VJ Bani popularly known as Bani J is an Indian actress, anchor and a model. The girl next door Bani is popular for her appearance in one of the biggest reality shows in India, MTV Roadies. Once a contestant, VJ Bani now hosts the show with the co-anchor Ranvijay Singh Singha. Bani will soon be seen in another popular reality show in Indian television namely Bigg Boss season 10.
Personal Life
Gurbani Judge is the real name of VJ Bani. She was born on 29th November 1987 in a rich and affluent family in Chandigarh. Her father is businessman and her mother is a housewife.
Bani had done her schooling from Vivek High School, Chandigarh till 7th standard. After that she moved to Woodstock International School, Mussourie. She had completed her college from Allahabad. She is quite popular as a fitness freak, tattoo obsessed and of course for her smart and straight forward outlook. Bani J is reportedly dating with boyfriend Yuvraj Thakur.
Career
- Bani, at the age of 20, in 2006, first appeared on TV in the Chandigarh audition for the show Roadies Season 4 on MTV India Channel. She got selected and ended up her Roadies journey as a runner up. After season 4 she got selected as the co-host for the roadies next seasons by the channel.
- In 2008-09 Bani appeared in MTV Roadies season 6 for the first time as a host. Ranvijay co-hosted the season with her. She hosted 5 seasons of Roadies viz. 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 respectively.
- Bani had also bagged a role of a warrior in a periodic drama by Vivek Gupta namely Rani Mahal. The movie will be based on 1857 era and the women warriors at that time. Other renowned actors like Anita Hasnandani and Sakshi Tanwar will also be expected to join her as co-actors.
- During 2009-10, Bani also appeared as a special cast in a Disney sponsored show Kya Mast Hai Life. The show was all about young students. Bani J along with popular TV names who have played the leading roles such as Shaheer Sheikh and Sana Sheikh had done a cameo in the show.
- With MTV India she had also hosted MTV Vogue Style in 60 (Season 1 & 2), MTV Unplugged and MTV Campus Diaries. These shows appeared on the channel in the year 2015-16.
- She had done two films in Bollywood. Her first movie experience was with Himesh Reshamiya in his film Aap ka Suroor in 2007. In 2011, she again appeared in a movie called Sountrack as a VJ. In 2016 there are two films released namely Zorawar (Punjabi) and Thikka (Telegu) where Bani J has appeared in a supporting role.
- Along with Roadies Season 4, she appeared for two more reality shows, Khatron ke Khiladi (Fear Factor) Season 4 in 2011 and I Can Do That in 2015. She could not win either of the titles but she reached quite a higher position.
Current Projects
Bani J will soon be seen as one of the house mates in India’s biggest reality show Bigg Boss Season 10. The show will host by the ace actor Salman Khan. She will also be seen in a periodic drama namely Rani Mahal soon as a warrior. The channel and the date of the show hasn’t declared yet.
Some Unknown Facts about Bani J
Gurbani Judge aka Bani J is obsessed with two things, tattoos and fitness. Often the girl ois found either in gym or in tattoo centres. Though the girl is famous for her outspoken nature and straight forward attitude however she is simple girl with some very basic needs in her life. In an interview with a leading newspaper she said reality show changed her life and Roadies is the turning point in her life.
